The Stautzenberger College Paralegal Studies Program
When you hear the word “briefs,” do you think of legal documents? If the legal system fascinates you, a career as a paralegal may be your calling. The Paralegal Studies program at Stautzenberger College uses a personalized, career-focused, hands-on approach to train students with the skills and knowledge necessary to begin a successful career. Local judges and practicing attorneys will teach you in a small classroom setting. Join us in the courtroom to get a firsthand look at the legal process.

Core Courses
The core courses are 74 credits and all paralegal students must complete them.

General Education Electives
Students must also choose three of the following electives:

A Day in the Life of a Paralegal*
A paralegal is an integral part of a legal team. While lawyers are ultimately responsible for legal work, they often delegate many of their tasks to paralegals. As a paralegal, you will:
- Help prepare for and assist attorneys during closings, hearings, trials and corporate meetings
- Investigate case facts
- Identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions and other materials that are relevant to your client’s case
- Analyze and organize information, and prepare reports that help determine how a case will be handled
- Prepare legal arguments
- Draft pleadings and motions
- Obtain affidavits
- Organize and track case documents
As a paralegal, you could work in community legal services and help disadvantaged persons in need of legal aid. You may also work in fields such as real estate law and corporate law.
