Our History
Where we started.
In 1926, William H. Stautzenberger decided that the Toledo area was in need of alternative education choices. He founded Stautzenberger College upon an uncompromising premise: provide quality education at a reasonable cost.
In October 1999, Stautzenberger was acquired by AHED of Ohio, Inc., a subsidiary of American Higher Education Development Corporation. Today, the college has three campuses with nearly 1,500 students. This remarkable growth is driven, in large part, by the same purpose the school was founded upon: provide students with the skills needed to succeed in today’s marketplace, at a price they can afford.
The Strongsville Branch Campus opened in October 2005 to serve the Cleveland metropolitan area. As the College grew, a Learning Center was opened in 2007 in Middleburg Heights to accommodate our Legal Technology students. In 2008, the College brought both groups of students back together again in an entirely new facility located in Brecksville, Ohio. The new physical facility was completed in September 2008, and the College assumed occupancy October 3, 2008.

The Brecksville space is 24,700 square feet. The facility is fresh, spacious and bright, with all of the latest in equipment and technology. The facility was designed to accommodate the needs and requests of both students and faculty.
The Lobby and administrative offices are warm and inviting; the furniture has been chosen to closely resemble a fine living room, encouraging both students and staff to relax in the comfortable chairs.
The ten classrooms were designed to provide an equally intimate learning environment. The largest room is configured to accommodate no more than 50 students. The smallest room is intended to house no more than six students. Each classroom is equipped with overhead projectors so that faculty may use PowerPoint at their leisure. Each room is also equipped with a pull-down screen for the projectors and with dry erase boards for clear writing without the hazards of chalk. Nearly every classroom has both natural and fluorescent lighting to ensure maximum comfort for students and faculty. Each room is equipped with both hardwired and wireless internet access.
The three Veterinary Technology labs boast high technology equipment in a well-configured space designed to facilitate learning while accommodating the practical applications of a veterinary hospital. The Massage Therapy lab is designed to provide comfort and privacy for clients while accommodating the instructional needs of students and faculty. The Pharmacy Technician Lab boasts a vertical hood for compounding medicine and ample work space for each student.
The Student and Faculty Lounges are spacious and accommodating. The wireless computer network ensures that both students and faculty may complete their work in comfort from any location in the facility.
The two computer labs offer students quality computers with Windows XP Professional on each unit. The computer tables provide comfortable keyboard trays and accessible mice. The monitors are all large and bright and easily adjusted.
The Library is bright and spacious, and includes both hardcopy and internet resources. Within the Library there is also a room dedicated to quiet study, exam proctoring and research.

- Diplomas in Pharmacy Technician
- Associate Degrees in Applied Business in Broadcast Captioning, Court Reporting and Paralegal Studies
- Associate Degrees in Applied Science in Massage Therapy, Pharmacy Technician and Veterinary Technician
